What is JETS Workforce?
JETS Workforce provides a nationally recognised framework for training, development, and competency assessment across endoscopy services. The programme sets clear standards for staff and offers structured learning pathways to help individuals develop the knowledge, skills, and experience required for their role.
By enabling services to identify workforce development needs and supporting staff progression, JETS Workforce helps create a more skilled, confident, and engaged workforce. Certification recognises achievement, promotes professional development, and helps individuals feel valued for the contribution they make to patient care.

History of the programme
JETS Workforce is a competency-based training programme developed from the All Wales Endoscopy Competency Framework (AWENcf). It was created to replace the previous Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for Nurses (GIN) programme and to support the development of the entire endoscopy workforce, including nurses, healthcare assistants, operating department practitioners, decontamination technicians, and other associated roles. Following a successful pilot in 2018, the programme was launched nationally in 2019.
